Take three measurements

Circumference, front hairline to nape, ear to ear over the top.

Straps adjust a cap that is close. They cannot fix one that is the wrong shape.

Choose the cap for how it is worn

Wefted for durability and cost. Monofilament crown for a real parting and a cooler cap.

Lace front to wear hair back. Full lace to part it anywhere.

Choose the fibre for heat, not for status

Human hair takes heat and colour, and needs restyling after every wash.

Heat-friendly synthetic keeps its style through washing and has a hard heat ceiling.

Ask for density as a number

A percentage, not an adjective. Lower at the front, graduated back.

This is the single decision that most changes whether a wig reads as hair.
